I can agree with these names on your list but Curt Hennig was the AWA World Champion in the mid 80's after the Lawler split with USWA/AWA. Although AWA was not a prominant as WWF and WCW it was a World Title.

To my tastes: Andre the Giant Bruiser Brody Roddy Piper Magnum TA Ted DiBiasie Jake Roberts Owen Hart- honestly found him better than Bret in almost every aspect. I was listening to him in the booth on the KOTR dvd, he was a treat. Bam Bam Bigelow - dont really consider the ECW belt as a true world championship, Arn Anderson Rick Rude
I'd also have Hennig and Lawler on this list as the AWA belt was kind of worthless during its dying days

Andre was champ.
A 10 minute reign that was used to further a storyline doesn't really qualify to me, at least that's how I perceive it considering Andre was probably the biggest act in the industry for quite awhile.
