So for years I wasn't a huge fan of this board, Even though I contributed to the content of the board  Smiley

But there was a lot passionate people on here, bitching, giving advise, going to war. I love how most the people who used to post on here are now all high & mighty and talk down about the board, they just know take to there twitter, facebook & formspring where they're surrounded by they're friends when they post something ridiculous. These are the same people who came on here & just talked, never doing anything to help anyone. This board can be a great tool for Texas. What shows to work? What shows to stay away from? What shows are coming up? This board helped Texas for years whether anyone wants to admit it, They all used the board to get there show & themselves over. They may now be "Above" posting here, but this mother fucker needs to be lit up again.. I'm not saying we should all join in & bash someone or some promotion. But God damn, this place is fucking dead! WTF Happened?

As a fan, I just want to know what shows are going on in the area. I'm not a Facebook person so I don't follow there. Barry's blog was the only place to find upcoming shows and it was a great resource. There's nothing now. I don't get that. On top of that, very few results in S Tex are posted. I would think that promotions would want to use every avenue of getting the word out for their show.

It just shows people are Too lazy to post they're results outside of Facebook or they're weary that they're card maybe ridiculed. No show is perfect. Some should take the advice. My results werent always popular. But they were posted.

I think the advancement of social media might have something to do with it. On facebook, you have everyone that can get instant feedback or whatever. Same with Twitter. Then you have the fallacy of Formspring where you give people the chance to ask anonymous questions. Unfortunetly it seems that message boards in general have fallen to the wayside in favor of more lighting fast communications. Just like AIM Instant Messenger (remember that?), there is always going to be something else for people to gravitate to.

I visit one that is pretty active, its east coast mainly. Bottom line is, I doubt there is anyone who was hated on here more in a long amount of time then Myself now a hero member ha, I still think this board can be a great tool. But guess what? it needs to get hype again.. Plenty of shows still happening in Tx, plenty of things going on still. It takes the same amount of time to promote an event on here as it does on Twitter, or Facebook. It may take 3 minutes longer. Even I know how much of a resource this site can be..

AM I the only one? Avery? Nite? The founders.. I know we're lil older now, but opinions dont die, nor does the love of the business.

I do miss some of the good discussions on here.

I never posted results, anywhere for that matter..

I would post cards from time to time..

I've always been under the mindset that if you want to know what happened, come to the show or watch it on tv. It just seemed right. Not that I think it drew an extra ticket but I wasn't going to give the show away for free.

Today, if I was running.. I think I'd even have a hard time posting a card. I have found that guys are getting more and more unreliable. Not sure why, cause it isn't like there are a lot of options out there. Nothing is more frustrating than advertising someone that doesn't show. I really don't think the fans give a shit because they aren't coming for that one person anyway but it's just the point of it.

My sentiments mirror Nites.
Tony Brooklyn posts his results in detail. Almost to the point of telling who taks a dump and what it consists of.
If you want to know whats going on at a show, buy a ticket.

I've had the argument about results before. And when I would say results should never be easily available, I would catch the argument over the NFL, NBA and so forth.
The major leagues not only publicize all the results, they help create the betting action those results rely on. And I would then get a blank stare. Minor league promoters don't want to be told they are not on par with a billion dollar sports league. A league that is controlled by everything BUT ticket sales at the gate. TV and cable deals make or break teams. Gambling makles or breaks individuals. And the leagues know this, thus, every piece of info is readily available.....
fast forward to the indy promoter struggling to sell tickets. Why would the same lazy ass that stays in mom's basement until the authorities find her embalmed body ever take the time to pay for a show he can read about on Facebook, and then get the results off a board? Makes no sense. But what do I know? I'm on the outside looking in...and happily doing so.
